Diet Coke and Dinosaurs

Mira likes to take cans of pop, carry them around, and pretend to drink them. She was doing this today, while playing with a dinosaur finger puppet. As she was playing, I let another Mira-ism slip out: "Mira, you can't drink your Diet Coke with a dinosaur in your mouth."

The Vacuum Sucks

I dropped some food on the floor, so I grabbed the vacuum to clean it up. A few minutes later I hear the vacuum turn on for about half a second. I stuck my head out of the kitchen, and see Mira running away from it. A few more minutes go by, and Sarah spills some salt on the floor, so I get the vacuum out again and clean it up. While we were finishing up dinner, I look in the hallway, and there's Mira again. That's when I said, "Mira, stop licking the vacuum cleaner."

Daddy's Nose

When we are trying to put Mira to sleep, she sometimes likes to play around. She likes to touch noses. After awhile I put my serious daddy face on and say, "Okay Mira, it's time to go to bed. Now please take your fingers out of my nose."

Toddlers and Smoking

Alright I admit it, I used to be a smoker. I was in the garage with my daughter, trying to organize a few things (it didn't last long). All of a sudden Mira walks up with an empty pack of cigarettes that must have been laying around for the last two years or so. I take the pack out of her hand and say, "No Mira, you can't have a cigarette."

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

After Mira finished eating dinner last night, it was time to clean up. I started walking down the hallway, and Mira came running after me. I had to stop and think about it after I said, "Mira, let's wash the peanut butter out of your hair." That was fun!

New Blog Name

I'm thinking of changing the name of my blog to "Things I never thought I would say, before I was a father. " Here is my first entry:

"Mira, get out of the crock pot. "
Enjoy!
